Structure has given me confidence to deliver rewards

It is difficult to keep on top of retail demands, trends and promotional activities as an independent pharmacy. As an owner, I became very worried that our identity would be lost, or at least, confused despite all the effort being put into the business. I craved for a detailed professional and retail structure to give us the confidence to deliver rewards for all our hard work. TerryWhite Chemmart has given me structure. I now have the retail and professional practice tools to develop a sustainable healthcare offer for my local community. Each month, we have fresh and exciting promotional ideas that work alongside the professional training and direction we are provided by our dedicated support team, who I have a really tight bond with. I have access to local area marketing and social media tools, that would normally take days to think of and create. So many times, I have binned ideas that are too complex to develop on my own. Now, I have resources at my fingertips. It’s become so easy that I can update my social media advertising profile between dispensing prescriptions, if required! I’m thankful for the TerryWhite Chemmart brand in helping us build deeper connections with our customers. It is a joy to work in our new store, and we are seeing new patients all the time now. It’s all or nothing

I often hear of pharmacy owners cherry picking the services that their brand or banner group provides. For me though, a huge part of the success and growth of my pharmacy in Armadale has been embracing all aspects of the TerryWhite Chemmart brand. A leap of faith is delivering results

We took quite the leap when we joined TerryWhite Chemmart one year ago. Our pharmacy was already a highly successful and well-established independent business in the Latrobe community and had been for more than 100 years, but we needed additional support to drive our front-of-shop business even harder. For us, TerryWhite Chemmart was that nice synergy between health and retail which suited our business needs without compromising our passion for delivering high quality healthcare to our community. In our first year as a TerryWhite Chemmart, our pharmacy has already seen significant uplift in FOS sales particularly in the traditional signature categories of medicines, skin care and natural health. We have also leveraged the high-quality dispensary offer which has been helping our script business grow steadily. We have revitalised our retail offer with the introduction of new ranges in the categories of fragrance, bridge cosmetics, beauty and weight management which is drawing in many new customers, and we have been impressed with the support and guidance provided by the team around merchandising and through both the online and face-to-face retail excellence training programs. A robust promotional program combined with better in-store execution has helped us deliver stronger results in just the space of a year and we are confident that the leap of faith we took a year ago is already paying off.

Vaccinations – key to the future success of our business

Before we joined TerryWhite Chemmart just over a year ago, vaccinations were not on our radar. The pandemic obviously changed a lot of things, customers’ expectations included, and it made my business partner Gavin and myself start to envisage a future for our business that was more heavily focussed on health. That process led us to TerryWhite Chemmart. TerryWhite Chemmart is undoubtedly the leader when it comes to vaccinations. Their commitment to training, one-on-one support and regular communication has given my team the confidence to deliver a service that currently makes us the 6th highest TWC COVID-19 vaccinating pharmacy in WA. The workflow processes that TerryWhite Chemmart has provided streamlines everything from booking to dispense to AIR and has been an absolute game changer. This alone has allowed us to embrace this service and maximise the number of patients we can vaccinate each day as well as accommodate walk ins. The marketing material and ease of booking through the TWC booking system has also seen many new patients come to our pharmacy, many of whom are making additional purchases in store and joining up to the TWC rewards program. With the success of vaccinations, we are now looking to expand our service offering and really insert ourselves as health leaders in our community of Alexander Heights

TerryWhite Chemmart Academy Live is an experience like no other

Academy Live is a day where TerryWhite Chemmart pharmacy assistants from across the state come together to learn, engage, and network. It’s both a fun and educational day which sees supplier representatives training on products and the TerryWhite Chemmart operations team presenting on up-and-coming signature campaigns as well as conducting team building exercises (which are always entertaining). I always feel so empowered after an Academy Live session and eager to take my newfound knowledge back to my team to implement in store. The networking element is just as important though. At Academy Live we are encouraged to work in groups with assistants from other pharmacies enabling many new friendships to be formed. These new connections have help me on many occasions to reach out to pharmacy assistants to collaborate with them when needed, enabling myself and the team to provide better service and care for our customers. Academy Live truly is an event like no other. It plays an important role in helping pharmacy assistants learn and be inspired to be the best they possibly can. It also instils us with the knowledge to care for and support our customers to the best of our abilities.
